It Starts With Action campaign learnings were shared at Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission's National Strategy Partners Conference in Wellington this week.

Members of the FSC leadership team and community attended "The power of together", Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission's inaugural conference for National Strategy partners, held on 24 and 25 August 2022.

Our It Starts With Action campaign was undertaken in support of the Commission's first National Strategy priority audience: women.

Project lead Clarissa Hirst, Co-Chair of the FSC's Diversity and Inclusion Committee Tracey Cross and Working Group member Josie Crimmins participated in a session analysing the campaign's success and sharing some learnings and feedback. They answered questions from the audience, asked questions of audience members (including Conference MC Michèle A'Court) using the campaign's popular conversation starter cards, and talked about what's next for women's financial wellbeing at the FSC.

The two-day Conference engaged National Strategy partners from across the country, including industry bodies, politicians (including Hon Dr. David Clark and Minister Jan Tinetti), financial mentors, community leaders, social media influencers and academics in discussions about how the industry can work together to improve outcomes for the three National Strategy priority audiences: women, Māori and Pasifika.

The sessions were a great example of industry collaboration, and the FSC team who attended, including CEO Richard Klipin, engaged in meaningful conversations with other attendees about how to continue the momentum from It Starts With Action as part of the FSC's Declaration to continue the work and focus on women's financial wellbeing.
