Professional Advice is an area of focus during our FSC24 Conference from 3-5 September, with care taken to curate specialised content and speakers relevant to those working in financial advice alongside our political, regulatory and main room plenary sessions.

Policy Masterclass: The Perception Gap - Upskilling Kiwis one financial step at a time

New Zealanders report high levels of financial confidence, even though their actual financial capability is lower. This difference is known as the 'Perception Gap' by the FSC.

How can 7,000 professional advisers bridge this gap between what New Zealanders think they know and what they actually know? What is the impact of New Zealanders increasingly using technology to access financial advice, products, and services?

To address these questions, we need to understand the current drivers of the Perception Gap. This session will also explore how professional advisers can guide consumers in making suitable financial decisions throughout their lives and how they can leverage technology to genuinely enhance the financial capability of New Zealanders.
