The June Credit Indicator shows the number of people behind on payments has increased.
June 2024 highlights are as follows:
- The number of people that are behind on their payments has increased to 474,000.
- Mortgage arrears are slightly up, with 22,000 home loans reported as past due, up by 300 from last month, which is 12% higher year-on-year.
- Consumers under the age of 25 are among those hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis.
- 233 companies were placed into liquidation in May 2024, the highest May total since 2014
