The FSC in the Policy, Regulation & Advocacy Space September 2021

The FSC continues to engage with regulators, policy makers and industry leaders to discuss pertinent issues relevant to the sector. At the September Regulation Committee, we heard from guests Liam Mason (FMA) and Simone Robbers (Reserve Bank) on behalf of the Council of Financial Regulators. At the October Committee, we will hear from guests Nick Kokay and Kim Boocock, Ministry of Justice to discuss the October to December AML/CFT Statutory Review and exemptions.

Submissions and Current Consultations
The Regulatory Committee continues to produce a raft of submissions that enables FSC members to have their input on new or proposed regulatory changes. Our current submissions are:

• Together with the IFRS17 Working Group, RBNZ Exposure Draft of the Interim Solvency Standard - Submissions close 1 October
• The Advertising Standards Authority sought views on the current Financial Advertising Code on 24 May 2021 and as a result of that review are now consulting on a new draft code – Submissions close 12 October
• Review of the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2010 (IPSA) Options Paper 2: Policyholder Security – Submissions close 15 November.
