Outlook 2026: Global currents to local impact with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon

Join us on Friday, 27 February 2026 for breakfast to hear the Prime Minister of New Zealand Rt Hon Christopher Luxon's direct address to the sector and to engage in discussions on how global financial, technological trends are converging to shape New Zealand’s future. 

The FSC is pleased to present Outlook 2026, the first premier event for the financial services sector for the new year as we examine the financial services' role not as a passive recipient of global change, but as an active participant and innovator within the New Zealand and global financial ecosystem. The morning will look ahead at trends, opportunities and the contribution the financial services sector will play in New Zealand's economy.

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon
Prime Minister of New Zealand

Christopher Luxon is the 42nd Prime Minister of New Zealand. 

He is also the Minister for National Security and Intelligence and the Minister Responsible for Ministerial Services. He entered Parliament at the 2020 election as the MP for Botany and was elected Leader of the National Party in November 2021.

Prior to entering Parliament, Christopher was Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand from 2013 to 2019. Prior to joining Air New Zealand, Christopher spent 18 years working at multinational consumer products company Unilever, in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, USA and Canada.

Christopher has a Master of Commerce in Business Administration from the University of Canterbury.

He is married to Amanda and they have two adult children.
