Life Insurance Industry Spotlight September 2025

The FSC gathers industry data on Life Insurance and publishes quarterly spotlights for the sector.

This spotlight is a quarterly snapshot for Life Insurance as at 30 September 2025.

Key insights and trends include:

• More than 60% of total premiums is attributed to ages 46 to 65. However, the age group as a collective has reduced by 2% between 2020 and this quarter, while age groups 41 to 45 and 66 to 70 have gained 2% in the same duration.
• Lapses has jumped back on its seasonality trend of peaking in June/September (9.7% increase this quarter), from its unusual decrease of 1% last quarter.
• Total premiums continue to grow, reaching an all-time high of $3.26 billion, while total covers and total claims accepted have slightly reduced this quarter by 0.3% and 4.7% respectively.
