The Workplace Savings Committee was set up following the merger of Workplace Savings NZ with the FSC in 2019. The Committee develops policies to help achieve improved workplace savings outcomes and has strong input into FSC’s engagement with government and regulators, for example challenging Inland Revenue’s changes to taxation rates for defined benefit schemes. The Committee also produces its own specialised newsletter for workplace scheme members.
The Committee also develops free training videos on trusteeship, governance and investments for those working in or with Workplace Savings Schemes are available to those wanting a refresher or those looking to enter the workplace savings sector. The training modules are also available via the FSC YouTube channel.
This year the committee will look to extend the range of training resources in response to surveys from and feedback from scheme managers and trustees. Please contact us if you have a specialised topic that you think should be featured, would like to participate in hosting a training module or want to be added to the mailing list so that you are updated when new modules are added online.
