Webinar: Cultivating mental wellness at work

As we spend much of our time in the workplace, it's crucial to equip ourselves and our teams with tools to prioritise and understand our mental wellbeing and help us lead healthier and balanced lives. 

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, join us for our webinar with industry experts in New Zealand mental health to learn how to recognise early warning signs of stress, set boundaries with colleagues and practical tips and strategies to implement and share with your teams.

 We'll be covering:

  • How to recognise early warning signs of stress, burnout and emotional fatigue
  • Practical strategies in setting boundaries with colleagues
  • How to prioritise your mental health and build resilience in the workplace

Anne Leyton (facilitator)
Head of Client Service and Governance, Securities Services, BNP Paribas Australia & New Zealand

Anne Leyton is the Head of Client Services Australia and New Zealand. She joined BNP Paribas Securities Services in London in June 2014 as Global Head of Fund Manager Liaison. Anne transferred to the Australian office in May 2018. 

She has extensive global knowledge and has worked in the Securities Services industry for 35 years.  Anne previously worked for Citibank, Northern Trust and State Street where she held a variety of management roles in Operations, Client Services and Relationship Management. Anne is a member of the Executive Committee for BNP Paribas Securities Services Australia. In her current role as Head of Client Service, she is responsible for ensuring that we deliver on the commitments to our clients and that they receive a desired level of service. 

She sits on the Steering committees for the BNP Paribas Pride and the MixCity gender equality networks partnering closely with HR and business leaders to integrate DE&I into business processes and practices.  

Catherine Lomax
Chief People and Strategy Officer, Southern Cross Health Society

Cath joined Southern Cross Health Society in February 2024 as the Chief People and Strategy Officer.

Prior to her appointment Cath was at Fisher Funds, where she had been Chief Client Officer for four years. In this role she led and grew the client facing, advice and operations teams, including the integration of Kiwiwealth teams in 2023.   

Her background also saw her serve as General Manager – People at Bank of New Zealand. Here she was responsible for creating and embedding a people strategy for the risk, finance, strategy and transformation, insurance and wealth, and people teams. Her leadership spans several financial service organisations in NZ and abroad in both large corporates and smaller entrepreneurial companies.  

She’s a champion of diversity, equity and inclusion. She believes in the power of good health and wellbeing. She holds a double major in Psychology and English Literature; both from the University of Canterbury. She is a Global Women member and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. She starts every day with a spot of yoga and a cold plunge and enjoys nothing more than her long black with a splash of cream to follow. She only has her son and husband at home now in Mt Eden as her eldest two are following in her footsteps studying at University of Canterbury. 

Shaun Robinson
Chief Executive Officer, Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand

Shaun is a father, partner, musician, gardener, sometimes surfer and organisational leader – he also lives with bipolar disorder. His professional passion is promoting a holistic response to mental health- particularly the things that people can do in their day to day lives to uplift their mental wellbeing - whether they are recovering from a time of mental distress, managing a long-term condition, or maintaining positive mental health. 

He has worked in social and health services for over 30 years. With degrees in business and community work, he has held four other CEO positions in not-for-profit organisations, addressing issues from care and protection of children to HIV and AIDS. He has also been a management consultant to public hospitals, developed a successful training business and been a policy advisor to former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark. He has served on commercial and not-for-profit boards and on a range of government working parties and advisory groups. 

Shaun says it is a privilege to contribute to the mental wellbeing of New Zealanders, and to the flourishing of our diverse communities.
