We are looking forward to welcoming the following small businesses to the Made in NZ marketplace.

Goldie Estate

Goldie Estate, the first established vineyard on Waiheke Island, founded in 1978 and nestled amongst 30 acres of native bush and rolling vineyards overlooking Putiki Bay.

Their Waiheke vineyard produces single Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier varieties.
The Estate is also home to the University of Auckland’s Wine Science Centre, which aims to continue the innovative spirit of the Goldwater family. The programme provides a unique learning experience for the students to be immersed in a fully operational winery.

Andrew Conley Ceramics

Andrew Conley makes handmade pieces of pottery in small batches, and specialises in unique made-to-order commissions, as well as retail-ready tableware.

Andrew's pottery encompasses sculpture, jewellery and tableware, and the thread running through it all is his belief in its potential to generate wonder, humour, and appreciation of the joy to be found in day to day moments.

Waiheke Soap Company

Waiheke Soap Company are a small artisanal soap and skincare producer based at the eastern end of Waiheke Island overlooking Te Matuku Bay Marine Reserve.

Waiheke Soap Company are the proud owners of an established olive grove of 250 trees, comprised mainly of Frantoio and Koroneiki varieties.

Their beautiful smelling, lovingly made soap and skincare range are all handcrafted on Waiheke in small batches, following old-fashioned recipes. Their soaps are then air cured for a minimum of four weeks.

They carefully select only the gentlest blend of plant oils, including their very own local Waiheke olive oil, to nourish and moisturise your skin. They continue to source organic where possible, and add the best quality natural ingredients, including high grade pure essential oils to create a beautiful soap and skincare range.

Their soap packaging is printed on 100% recycled paper. No nasties, artificial colourings or fragrances are used in the range.

Heke Clothing

Heke Design has been in business for 13 years now and everything is made by owner Bea in her Waiheke Island studio.

Heke Clothing believes that one of the big solutions to our environmental mess is utilising what we already have. Therefore everything they create is made from landfill- destined surplus clothing and textiles.

Dream Candles

Owner Uma Singh started making candles in March 2020 as a hobby when she retired from her fulltime job. She initially started making candles and soaps only for her family and has slowly grown this into a small business that she is very passionate about.

Dream Candles are 100% soy wax candles that she has poured herself at home. All her products combine her love of science and art, with inspiration drawn from her experiences, surroundings and day to day interactions. Therefore, her products are always changing and evolving.

Waiheke Distillery

Waiheke Distilling Co (WDC) is packing a big punch with their small (but growing) range of craft distilled spirits. Waiheke is more traditionally known for its production of world-class wine, but the team at Waiheke Distilling are quietly acquiring international recognition with their award-winning gin.

A little off the beaten track, visitors who make the trek to the eastern side of the Island are rewarded with breath-taking views of the Hauraki Gulf. The relaxed garden bar offers a wide range of classic drinks, innovative cocktails and fresh food inspired by the surrounding botanical gardens. Distillery & garden tours are also available by appointment.

A visit to WDC is a truly unique Waiheke experience not to be missed. Opening hours, events, bookings and online shop all available on their website.

Tsrang Label

Tsrang Label is a streetwear label founded by Esther Zhuang in October 2021 and is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Turbulent times in 2020 made her realise how necessary it was to let people in when she was feeling vulnerable, and share her experiences. Despite it being uncomfortable, it ultimately made life easier and gave her more control over her narrative, and meant that listeners had little to doubt. Sharing low moments also brings people closer together by placing trust within the relationship.

Tsrang Label hopes to reflect and encourage being ok with your own vulnerabilities, and find strength in honouring your feelings.

Brenda Hart Jewellery

Brenda Hart is a contemporary jeweller/object maker in Auckland.

She has had an interest in silversmithing and working with metal for almost 50 years.  Her work is influenced by nature, especially New Zealand native plants, also at times by social issues. As such, her work has a narrative.

In the past, she has made work for Te Papa Museum, galleries and in 2019 was invited to be Artist in Residence at The Auckland Botanical Gardens, celebrating the centenary anniversary of Captain Cook’s voyage to New Zealand, with her work reflecting on herbarium plants collected by Banks and Solander.

Each individual piece is made by hand in her studio, including all the forged chains. She uses sterling silver plate and wire, copper and sometimes embellish the work with a little gold or semi precious stones.  Her jewellery is a reflection of the natural beauty of New Zealand.
